Royal Bank of Scotland completes rebranding of ABN AMRO   2008-11-12 - vna

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS), one of the world's leading financial services companies, announced on November 11 that it has completed its rebranding of ABN AMRO Bank in Vietnam , which is now known as the Royal Bank of Scotland Vietnam.

The event marked the first appearance of the RBS trade mark in the Vietnamese banking and financial market.

Chief Executive of the RBS Vietnam Steve Chen said that the event will create opportunities for Vietnamese customers to benefit from a wide range of banking products and services.

On this occasion, the RBS also announced a plan to provide the global transaction services in Vietnam . This service is in the top- five banking services for cash management and trade products.
Receiving Steven Chen, the Governor of State Bank of Vietnam , Nguyen Van Giau, appreciated the value of the contributions made by ABN AMRO (now known as the RBS) in Vietnam over the past 10 years.

He said he hoped that the RBS would operate with increasing effectiveness in the future affirmed that the State Bank would create favourable conditions for the development of foreign banks in general and the RBS in particular.

ABN AMRO was one of the first foreign banks to operate in Vietnam . It opened its first representative office in Ho Chi Minh City in 1992 and its second in Ha Noi in 1994. Two years later, the representative offices were transformed into foreign bank branches across Vietnam.
